A New School Year is soon starting

After enjoying some downtime during the Summer, Spanish4you Canada is pleased to be back on track. We are currently working on the schedule for the following 2016-2017 school year, revising course content and organizing new resources.

We are excited to continue to offer different Adult and Kids classes at our location in Mississauga and tutoring services around the GTA.

We are pleased to have held our first Adult Book Club in Spanish. The experience was really enjoyable and we look forward to having more sessions in the future.

Our Kids Courses are dynamic and innovative. We had a terrific end to the 2015-2016 session with different final showcases that parents attended. We are now excited to see returning students as well as new ones join the school.

We are also proud to have catered quite successfully the language needs of different Adult Students during these last few years.

And last but not least, we are thrilled to have launched our Spanish Club for Early Childhood Centres and to have welcomed some new teachers into the program.

Don’t postpone Spanish any longer. Study Spanish with Spanish4you Canada and Learn, Live and Share the love for the Spanish Language. ¡Hasta pronto!

Newsletter November 2015

Hola amigos de Spanish4you Canada,
We welcome the new students that joined the school this year and wish you an enriching journey with “el español”. I have purchased new textbooks, reading material and videos to complement our classwork and make your experience more enjoyable. I also want to thank those students that have generously donated copies to our Spanish4you library. You are allowed to sign out books and magazines as long as you return them in good condition. I also encourage you to take the free circulation newspapers and magazines for adults and teens that I regularly bring here. This is authentic material and a great source of vocabulary and informative content.

cuando terminas un libro se esconde adentro tuyo
I am organizing a new ENCUENTRO for adults at Taste of Colombia. This meeting is scheduled for Saturday November 21st at 5:00 pm. Salsa lessons are offered from 6:00-11:00 pm. The lessons have a cost of $15 per person and this includes a drink. You are all welcome to attend and you can bring friends or relatives if you wish. Let me know if you are interested in staying for the salsa classes and I will make the proper arrangements with Yury Wu, owner of the store. Remember that Taste of Colombia is located at 67 Bronte Road, Unit 2, Oakville.

For the youngest students, I will organize a visit to LA HORA DEL CUENTO at the Mississauga Valley Library in a near future. Date and time TBA.
Hope to see you at Taste of Colombia. A few students have been on trips to Spanish speaking countries and this could be a great time to re-connect and share experiences.
Hope to hear from you in this regard,
Hasta pronto,
Karina

A new Spanish Season is soon starting

I hope you had a safe and restful “verano” and that you had the chance to recharge batteries to start the next 2015-2016 school year. Thanks for those that joined us at the Latin Festival organized by Colombia in Mississauga. I enjoyed sharing the story of “El Mono Egoísta” with the kids that attended our workshops. We learned about “los animales y sus habitats”, we did crafts and sang songs in Español ¡Buen trabajo chicos!
Many parents showed interest in the Spanish for Kids Courses which will begin next week. Please check the website for a description of the methodology, fees and hours. I am in the process of forming new groups.

Whatever your age, interest or needs with the Spanish language, do not hesitate to call me or e-mail me. Returning and new students are all welcomed.
A new Spanish season is soon starting. Register with Spanish4you Canada and Learn, Live and Share the Love for the Spanish Language.

Newsletter Spanish4you May

Hola amigos de Spanish4you Canada.

BIENVENIDOS los nuevos estudiantes que se suman a la escuela de Español. Y bienvenido el buen tiempo (nice weather) en Canadá. Por fin hace calor!

Our last ENCUENTRO (meet-up) was a success …..TODO UN EXITO. Esmeralda Enrique and her Flamenco Company really delivered at the Fleck Dance Theatre. Son un grupo de bailarines y músicos muy talentosos. There will be more encuentros for sure. Next, we’ll be most likely in Burlington for a salsa class after una charla de café (talk over coffee). So, there will be something interesting for everyone that evening. I will soon begin the arrangements. We might even have a guest speaker come join us.

Some students are interested in getting extra material to improve their learning. You know that I often purchase from Librería Las Américas in Montreal and I get a 20 % discount through our school account.

Feel free to check their website: www.lasamericas.ca

I also love visiting Toronto Spanish Books from time to time. We held one ENCUENTRO at the place time ago. You can see pictures in my website. I love the cozy atmosphere at this bookstore….me encanta! A few students already signed up to the Toronto’s Spanish Books monthly newsletter: www.spanishbooks.ca

Regardless of whether you find something of interest and level-appropriate, it’s a nice way to be informed about publications in Spanish. And you can practice your español by reading the books synopsis. Una muy buena práctica!

I want to congratulate my younger students as well for the hard work they are doing. We celebrated “Día de la Tierra” (Earth Day) with an activity at the park; Some other students created their very own video blogs, which they shared in class. Excelente trabajo chicos!

And I welcome new kids who have recently joined the groups. Next Saturday May 9th I will be taking a few to Mississauga Valley Public Library for LA HORA DEL CUENTO (story telling by Veronica Ramirez). It will be our “ENCUENTRITO” .

Bueno amigos, esto es todo. Remember to join me on Facebook. I am always posting and reposting about events that happen in the city and celebrations and cultural events related to the Hispanic world. Like 5 de mayo that is coming soon. You are encouraged to share whatever information you think that can be of interest for our group.

Hasta el próximo encuentro,

Karina
